BN-TiB₂ · Vacuum Deposition Parts
Intermetallic CruciblesUS manufactured precision BN-TiB₂ crucibles for e-beam and thermal evaporation of aluminum and reactive metals — electrically conductive, non-wetting, and machined in the USA to your evaporator's exact pocket. |

Intermetallic crucibles are composed of 50% Boron Nitride and 50% Titanium Diboride — a composite that is simultaneously electrically conductive and thermally lubricious. This unique combination prevents reactive materials like aluminum from wetting and climbing the crucible walls, making it the material of choice for demanding e-beam evaporation processes. We manufacture these components domestically with tight dimensional tolerances and consistent density.

An intermetallic crucible is machined from BN-TiB₂ — a composite of roughly 50% boron nitride and 50% titanium diboride. The result is rare: a ceramic that is both electrically conductive and chemically non-wetting.
That combination is exactly what aluminum evaporation demands. The boron nitride keeps molten aluminum from wetting and climbing the crucible walls, while the titanium diboride carries current and withstands repeated thermal cycling — making BN-TiB₂ the material of choice for demanding e-beam and thermal deposition processes.
IAM machines these components domestically with tight dimensional tolerances and consistent density — the same part, every time.
